Eye See You

PJ letting me know that he is watching me.

He used my tan line from my sandals and drew in this, "so he could keep an eye on me"

I love this man and all that he does to help me laugh, and feel appreciated

New Hobby

PJ has a lot of time on his hands with being on disability for his back so he has started a new hobby of making the para cord bracelets. Now all of us have one and he is working on belts or some other type of thing.

Fun Times

Friends

Well here we are after the fact. There she was squirting all the kids(with water) at the ice cream party for learning the Articles of Faith and no one was squirting her back. She stood there all dry, so I threw a water balloon at her and hit her feet. My boys ratted me out and she attacked me and squirted me in the face and it was on. I grab a water balloon hugged her and broke it down her back. She grabbed whip cream and tried to squirt it at me. I grabbed the other can, she dumped caramel sauce on my head and it ran into my eyes. I grabbed bananas and strawberry sauce. In the end we laughed and laughed. It is what we both needed that day, to be reminded to let the stress go and just have some fun. We had cleaned up a little bit before we took the picture against both of our wishes. I am glad to say you are my friend and have helped me grow so much in the last two years. Love ya Summer.

Officer Newman

Cub Scout night and it was time to learn about Policemen and what they do and how we can help them. PJ has a friend through umpiring that is a Highway Patrolman. He is in charge of the recruits at the academy or something along those lines. He was gracious enough to come and speak to the boys.Officer Newman "Brent" was great. He brought the boys a t-shirt and a little bouncy ball. He let them sit in the car and even handcuffed some of them. It was a great experience and now PJ is the cool one of the leaders but we already knew that.

1st Day

First day of 8th, 7th, 5th, and 3rd. They are growing up so fast and didn't throw too much of a fit this time to take a picture. They weren't quite ready but I took pictures anyways. Their first day meant my first day back at work. Oh how I miss the summer already.

On our way out

They had to get one last climb in before we left in the morning. I think we found yet another hobby they like.

Too bad we couldn't stay longer, I had to get home and get ready to go back to work, oh the joys of that.

Where did he go

Yogi was not liking the fact that PJ would walk away from camp. He would stretch out as far as could be and try to keep an eye on him. Yogi was not sure of the camping trip at all, all the noises he would hear it took him a long time to relax but when he did he sleep at my feet in the sleeping bag and didn't move for a long time, longer than home. He was a good watch dog and alerted us when he heard a deer. He didn't bark he would whine and look in the direction it was and want to chase it but eventually the deer walked by our camp and off it went and Yogi settled down.

It's cold

Learning how cold it really gets in the mountains at night, even in the summer.
Thank goodness for fire.

Dinner time, Something NEW

We thought we would try something new. You take crescent rolls and wrap them around hotdogs, and cook. It took us a few times to get it and realize that the roll takes at least 15 minutes to cook all the way and if your not careful it will slide right off and into the fire. We love new experiences and challenges.

Notice Jacob is not wearing shoes and has no pants. Again another one not being prepared. His shoes were soaked and muddy from falling into the water so we were drying them by the fire. When we told him to put warm clothes on he came out in his swim shorts and sweatshirt. He thought only having a sweatshirt would be good enough. He learned and will bring warm clothes the next time we go camping.

Lake

Exploring around the lake as a family

Little walk

We decided to go on a little walk, which was more like a hike. It was beautiful where we were. The weather was nice and it was fun to be together as a family.
We had to walk across this log or get our feet wet. We did great on the way over but on the way back, Jacob fell off the log and landed into the water. Soaked head to toe, mud everywhere. As he laid there in shock, then finally got up and start crying the rest of us were laughing hysterically. I know we shouldn't have laughed but the look on his face was hilarious. Besides its just water he'll dry. We have towels back at camp and its not biggie.

This is the after shot of him falling into the water. And a few minutes later realizing when Rob had put the towels away instead of in the truck how long of a night it really was going to be. Rob kept saying, Dad just said grab the towels I thought he wanted me to put them where they belonged in the cupboard. I am so glad this was just a one night trip.
I was the only one injured on our walk, my leg brushed up against a fallen tree and the branches went straight into my leg. That is when we realized we left the first aid kit at home. Again we learned alot about how unprepared we really were. Its hard to see but I had some really deep slivers and they were painful. Still glad we went camping though.
