New birthday tradition?

this might be a new tradition to go shooting for my birthday. We actually took someone from PJs work who had never been before and turned it into a date for my birthday.

Dinner time, Something NEW

We thought we would try something new. You take crescent rolls and wrap them around hotdogs, and cook. It took us a few times to get it and realize that the roll takes at least 15 minutes to cook all the way and if your not careful it will slide right off and into the fire. We love new experiences and challenges.

Notice Jacob is not wearing shoes and has no pants. Again another one not being prepared. His shoes were soaked and muddy from falling into the water so we were drying them by the fire. When we told him to put warm clothes on he came out in his swim shorts and sweatshirt. He thought only having a sweatshirt would be good enough. He learned and will bring warm clothes the next time we go camping.

Exploring around the lake as a family

Last minute trip

So here we are Sunday evening and PJ says did you know that it is the meteor shower right now at night. I said nope, he says we should go camping and see the shooting stars. So we load everything up and head out for a one night camp over. We have yet to go camping as a family this year or really in many years. I have sorda been banning them due to it hurts me to sleep on the ground. We arrive at camp and set things up. There was some controversy on what type of not to tie and thats how it started.
Roy explaining to me why he can't cooperate with his brothers.

Rob is having a great time already.
We even brought Yogi with us. He was quite excited.

Slides

What do you do with four boys when all the neighbor kids are gone, take them out. We went to Roseville and at this park they have cement slides. Take a piece of cardboard or wax paper and down you go. The boys learned that if you have basketball style shorts that they work just as well as the cardboard, if not better. One more thing to add to things we can do together as a family.

River

We wanted to do something new, and get the boys out of the house. We only have a few more days left of summer so we took them to the River. We had them put on life jackets and showed them how to float the river. The boys loved it, and want to do it more. I am glad that we are able to give them memories like these.
