The Cardinals used strong offense to secure their spot in the Cup Finals. The entire lineup for the Cards brought their bats today but it was the bottom of the order that impressed. Andrew Ochoa had two singles, Lance Moses reached base all three times, and Tanner McDonell had a single and two walks. Carson Wingfield looked sharp on the hill as he struck out 6 of the 8 batters he faced. The Reds put up a great effort but just didn't have enough to survive their second game in two nights. Gino Almuina, Robbie Perry, and Aiden McElroy each reached base twice in the game for the Reds. Congratulations to Manager Vince Langley and his coaching staff on a great AAA season for the Reds! The Cardinals will move on to play in the Cup Finals on Thursday night.
The Orioles made it two in a row as they beat the #1 seeded Athletics to move on to the finals. A gutty performance by Robert Schneider who pitched four full innings against the big hitting A's. Schneider kept the ball in the strikezone and let his fielders make the plays behind him. Jack Deaner showed up on offense and defense for the Orioles. Deaner went 4-4 at the plate with three doubles and a single. And on the mound Deaner closed the game out by pitching the final two innings and giving up only one hit while striking out 4. The A's offense was bolstered by Jack Falco's 3-3. Falco collected two doubles, a single and a walk on the night. The Athletics sesaon is not over yet. We will see the A's again in the District 5 Tournament of Champions on 6/3 at 6pm.

For Roberts first time as a starting pitcher and only the second time he has pitched this year he did an awesome job. His team is on fire right now, which is great. I got to leave the snack bar for a couple of innings and watch him pitch which was a lot of fun but nerve racking. Yes I am one of those moms that screams and yells for her kids. This game made me realize it.
